Standalone Profiling
By default, TapResearch profiles each user inside the survey wall — they answer a few profile questions on their way into surveys. With standalone profiling, you can run that profiling step on its own, decoupled from the survey wall.
Standalone profiling is set up by the TapResearch team. Reach out to your account manager to enable it for your app.
What it does
You place the profiler as its own experience — a quick onboarding step, for example — where users answer demographic questions and then return to your app. No survey required. Once a user is profiled, they won't be shown the standalone profiler again.
Why decouple it
- Collect profile data up front — build a user's profile during onboarding, before they ever reach a survey. Use this data to better understand your user base and optimize the survey experience.
- Sharper targeting, fewer screen-outs — surveys (and User Boosts) match more accurately when a user is already profiled, so they hit fewer dead ends.
- A lighter entry point — a short profiler is an easier first action than a full survey.
